Light for Strength: How the Athena Candle Supports the Thrive Empowerment Center

At Wicked Obscura, we believe that every candle should tell a story. One of our most powerful creations, the Athena Soy Candle, does just that. Inspired by the Greek goddess of wisdom and strength, Athena was born not just as a scent but as a symbol of empowerment, resilience, and healing.

This special candle was created in partnership with the incredible team at Thrive Empowerment Center, a nonprofit based in Covington, KY. Thrive provides essential resources, support, and community to survivors of domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, strength, and self-worth.

Why Athena?

Athena is the goddess of wisdom, strategy, and courage. She represents the inner warrior that lives within all of us—especially those who have faced unimaginable challenges and chosen to rise above them. The candle's scent is a thoughtfully blended trio of bergamot, neroli, and lavender: uplifting, calming, and empowering notes designed to create an atmosphere of peace and personal power.

You’re also taking part in a mission. 15% of every purchase goes directly to Thrive Empowerment Center, funding vital services through their "Sponsor a Warrior" initiative. This includes trauma-informed training, counseling services, emergency assistance, and empowerment programs tailored to each survivor's journey.
